Bastrop Animal Rescue is a foster based, all-volunteer rescue organization. This means we DO NOT have a shelter or kennel facility. Most of the pets in our care are in foster homes spread out across Bastrop and Austin. - If you're interested in meeting a specific pet, please send us an email and we can put you in touch with the pet's foster to schedule a meet and greet. - Check out our events page for upcoming adoption events. - We manage the Cat Adoption Habitats at the Bastrop Petco. Stop by to visit with our feline companions and you might just end up adopting your next family member.
$250 for puppies (under 6 months) and small dogs (under 20 pounds). $190 for medium and large dogs (over 20 pounds). $150 for senior pets (9 years and older) and special needs. All DOGS are examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, tested and treated for heartworms (if positive). $50 for cats and kittens. All CATS are examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, tested for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.
Bastrop Animal Rescue is a non-profit, public charity that is not funded or subsidized by any state or federal agency. We rely solely on adoption fees, donations, and fundraising efforts to continue our life-saving mission. Adoption fees go towards our program and operating expenses such as veterinary care, medication, training, food, and other basic essentials to keep the pets healthy, well balanced, and ready for their forever homes.
